Vera and Shetland author Ann Cleeves to visit Plymouth

Crime fans are in for a treat next month as award winning crime writer Ann Cleeves visits the Central Library.

Ann is the author behind television’s Vera and Shetland. She has written more than 25 novels and is the creator of detectives Vera Stanhope and Jimmy Perez – characters loved both on screen and in print. Her books have sold over a million copies worldwide.

Ann will be talking about her life as a writer and reading from her latest novel The Moth Catcher, the seventh in the Vera Stanhope series. A question and answer session will follow.

Councillor Glenn Jordan, Cabinet Member for Culture, said: “We’re delighted to welcome such a well-known and popular author to Plymouth. We know there are lots of fans of both the books and the TV series out there.”

Ann will be at the library from 6.30pm on Wednesday 20 July. Refreshments will be served and books will be on sale for signing by the author.

Tickets are free but limited. Book online here.
