Work at the junction of William Prance Road and Tavistock Road is expected to finish in around a month.
Part of the Derriford Transport Scheme, this work was originally programmed to finish by the end of this month but we have had to deal with a number of unforeseen setbacks, including the discovery of an unused asbestos water pipe, an uncharted concrete water tank and a gas main that had to be lowered.
We now expect to re-open the junction towards the end of October, but this will only be for traffic heading out of William Prance Road and traffic turning left from the southbound side of Tavistock Road to access Future Inn.
This is because the section of road between Future Inn and the Brest Road roundabout will then need to be closed (eastbound only) while the second phase of work is carried out.
The westbound side will be fully open from the Brest Road roundabout to Tavistock Road, where traffic will be able to turn right to the north and left to the south.
The right turn from Tavistock Road into William Prance Road is expected to re-open in early spring, when work between Future Inn and Brest Road roundabout is finished.
