Good news – the temporary walkway over the Sutton Harbour lock will be open again from today (Friday).
The repairs are complete and we’ve updated the timetable to let people know the best time to cross.
It does depend on tides and how much marine traffic is going through the lock, so there may be a wait, but to help you plan your journey, here’s when the walkway is open:
- Friday 17 August 1pm to 8pm
- Saturday 18 August 2pm to 9pm
- Sunday 19 August 2pm to 9pm
- Monday 20 August not open
- Tuesday 21 August 8am to 1pm
- Wednesday 22 August 8am to 2pm
- Thursday 23 August 8am to 2.30pm
Don’t forget there is the Starfish Trail around Sutton Harbour and a short ferry ride across the harbour is another way to get across.

The Sutton Harbour Ferry Service runs daily between Lockyers Quay and Barbican West Pier, and is subsidised by Sutton Harbour Holdings plc during peak school holiday periods. The ticket price is refunded for customers when they visit the NMA café or shop, or eat at Rockfish.
