It’s time for parents to have their say about the school admissions process in Plymouth.
Starting school, whether primary or secondary is an important step, and the Council wants to make applying for places as fair and straightforward as possible.
Parents are therefore being asked for their views on the proposed school admission arrangements for the start of the 2021 academic year.
Comments are needed on:
- admission numbers for all schools
- key dates in the admissions process
- admission arrangements for all of the schools taking part in the consultation
Councillor Jon Taylor, Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Transformation said: “Our schools are an important part of this city and it’s absolutely essential that we consult on admissions arrangements every year. We know that the school admission process can be a worrying time for parents, which is why I hope as many people as possible will let us have their views.”
The consultation opens on Monday 9 December and the closing date is Sunday 19 January 2020. Any comments should be submitted online using the form available at www.plymouth.gov.uk/admissionconsultation.
Comments can also be submitted in writing to: School Admissions Consultation, Learning and Communities, Plymouth City Council, Windsor House, Tavistock Road, Plymouth PL6 5UF or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by that date.
