The Herald has published a letter and online story today about a road marking on Lyndhurst Road.
If we had been approached for a response we would have explained that this road marking meets all relevant guidelines and has been in place for a number of years. It has just been re-marked because it was faded.
The photograph has been taken from the school entrance – not a general traffic route – and it fails to show the rest of the junction.
The arrow is not there to direct traffic through bollards. It is there to remind people driving out of the school that the top section of Lyndhurst Road is one-way and they can only turn right into North Down Road (which is not shown in the photograph).
