There are already lots of things you can do online as a member of our libraries service – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You can:
- browse our online catalogue, reserve items to collect from your local library or renew items you have on loan
- download eBooks and audiobooks to a tablet, smartphone or eReader, with thousands of titles to choose from and a dedicated site for children
- read magazines online or download them to your tablet or computer
- access a number of premium websites including online dictionaries, encyclopedias, music streaming, newspapers, homework help and more
As part of our Plan for Libraries we want to make our online offer even better, providing a bigger selection of eBooks, audiobooks, digital magazines and subscription websites, potentially streaming films, as well as more music and improving our range of online resources for learning and study.
Each of our library buildings will offer free access to at least 12 PCs, as well as free Wi-Fi and we hope to provide computer access and support out in communities using mobile technology.
We also plan to expand our online reservations so that people can ‘click and collect’ from various locations, including pop-up libraries.
