Elderly residents in Plymstock now have a drier wait for the bus.
The new bus shelter has been placed outside retirement development Maple Court on Horn Cross Road, adjacent to Magnolia Court; another retirement home.
This was after a local resident, Ms Christine Speed requested the bus stop.
Ms Speed said: “I would like to thank the Council for installing this shelter; it will improve travelling for myself and all the other residents in the area.
“It’s a bit of shelter that we’ve all appreciated, especially with the weather we’ve been having.”
Councillor Patrick Nicholson, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Strategic Transport, Housing and Planning, said: “We’re pleased that what is a relatively small project bringing so much community benefit has been delivered here in Plymstock.
“Care for the elderly is important to us all, and I’m so glad that in this instance, we were able to provide this for the residents of the retirement homes and local community.”
