Our library service has teamed up with school meals provider CATERed to publish a recipe book following their successful Lunch at the Library events over the summer.
Featuring popular recipes from CATERed’s lunch menu the book will be available to borrow from all Plymouth libraries from Wednesday 24 January.
Schools have been invited to a launch event at Devonport Library, where children will taste some of the meals from the book, make smoothies and decorate biscuits. They will also be given a copy of the book to take home and keep.
Councillor Glenn Jordan, Cabinet Member for Culture, said “Lunch at the Library was a great success; bringing thousands of visitors to libraries over the summer for activities and a healthy lunch. Now families will be able to try out CATERed’s delicious recipes at home.”
The library service was awarded £56,026 from the Libraries Opportunities for Everyone Innovation Fund to work with CATERed to increase access to library services and a healthy meal during the summer holidays.
The Libraries Opportunities for Everyone Innovation Fund is run by Arts Council England and supports projects that develop innovative library service activity to benefit disadvantaged people and places in England.
