Get e-books for free with your library card

Library members in Plymouth will soon be able to get e-books and audiobooks for free using their library cards.

From Monday 7 July, anyone with a smartphone, tablet, PC, laptop or other digital device with an internet browser will be able to enjoy a range of best-selling novels, well-known classics, autobiographies and more.

The service will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, anywhere in the world and there are hundreds of popular fiction and non-fiction titles to choose from, as well as books for children and teens. There will also be a collection of audiobooks available to download.

Deputy Council Leader Peter Smith said: “We’re really excited to be offering books in digital format. It’s an easy, convenient way for people to pick up a bestseller or re-read an old classic – and it’s free. There’s something for everyone and e-books are perfect for summer holidays. Sign up and save some space in your suitcase!”
