A new name has been added to the line-up for Plymouth’s biggest music event, with just over four weeks to go.
Singer-songwriter Becky Hill will be joining Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra during their Ibiza Classics show at MTV Presents: Ocean City Sounds on Friday 27 July, as well as performing her own set.
Becky has worked on some hugely successful drum and bass and dance music collaborations and her Oliver Heldens collaboration ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ shot to number one in the UK charts. She’s also joined forces with artists including Wilkinson (who performed at last year’s MTV Crashes Plymouth), Rudimental, Matoma and MK, co-writing every song she has worked on.
Becky’s new solo single ‘Sunrise in the East’ was released earlier in June and her debut album will be out later this year.
Becky said: “I’m excited to be joining the Ibiza Classics show in Plymouth and can’t wait to perform some of my own songs for you all in such a beautiful setting by the sea!”
She will join Pete Tong, the Heritage Orchestra and conductor Jules Buckley on stage for two songs during the Ibiza Classics show, a 90-minute audio-visual spectacle that sees huge dance tracks performed in an entirely new way, with a laser light show and a 65-piece orchestra.
The Day Two line-up also includes DJ sets from Tom Findlay (one half of Groove Armada) and BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard.
Deputy Council Leader Pete Smith said: “We’re so excited to be bringing an incredible line-up of Ibiza inspired music to Plymouth in July. This is the only South West date for Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra’s Ibiza Classics show so it’s a brilliant opportunity for people in the city and wider region to enjoy a world-class show that has sold out arenas across the country.”
