‘What does it means to live in Plymouth?’ – that’s the question being asked in Mutley and the answer’s in art.
Friends of Moor View Park have teamed up with the university to deliver a series of artist-led workshops and the results will be on show this weekend at the park which is just off Mutley Plain.
The work has been created by people with disabilities, students, older people as well as youngsters and migrants and it is hoped that a permanent artwork can be commissioned in the near future. So if you are an artist looking for work come down and meet the locals.
The event is being supported by Vital Sparks,a city-wide initiative designed to inspire arts, culture and creativity in Plymouth.
At the heart of Vital Sparks is its funding scheme. Small bursaries from £500 to £5,000 are available to community, youth and residents groups to make a difference in their neighbourhood. This unique Plymouth Culture Board project is funded by Arts Council England and Plymouth City Council.
The show is on Saturday 21 March from 12pm until 3pm in Moor View Park.
