Number one selling band The 1975 and electro-pop breakthrough artist Kiesza have joined the stellar line-up for MTV Crashes Plymouth.
The sold out show, which takes place on the Hoe on Tuesday 15 July, is being organised in collaboration with the Council and is one of the highlights in this year’s Three Towns centenary celebrations.
It will be one of the first chances to see Manchester four-piece The 1975 back on home soil after an extensive US tour. Their self-titled debut album smashed the airwaves and went straight into the album chart at number one.
The band’s Matthew Healy said: “We can’t wait to play the MTV Crashes Plymouth show – I predict a riot!”
Also performing in front of the 20,000-strong crowd will be Canadian-born New Yorker Kiesza, tipped by many leading industry figures as ‘the voice of the new house renaissance’. The singer songwriter will perform an anthemic electro-pop set, featuring her recent debut number one hit ‘Hideaway’.
She said “I cannot wait to perform at MTV Crashes Plymouth! See you all there – it’s going to be fun.”
The 1975 and Kiesza join an already fantastic line-up for the hotly anticipated MTV Crashes show, featuring chart-topping rapper and singer Example and BRIT Award winning Kaiser Chiefs.
The event will be broadcast on MTV’s flagship UK music TV channels MTV Music and MTV Live HD and subsequently across its other music channels, showcasing Britain’s Ocean City in over 35 countries with some electric live performances.
